Part-time Psychologist - £19,900 - Cranborne, Dorset
Initially 3 days per week - £19,900. FTE £40,000
This Education Group is an innovative provider of education and care for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities throughout the UK.
They are currently looking for a Psychologist in Cranborne where their School provides highly person-centred study programmes for young people aged 11-16, with autistic spectrum conditions including Asperger’s syndrome, social and emotional difficulties, anxiety disorders and mental health needs.
The Role Your role will be to use psychological models and practices to enhance the learning, cognitive and emotional skills of children and young people in order to prepare them for adult life.
Key elements of the post include:
Oversight of Positive Behaviour Support and Clinical Risk Assessment within the school
Individual clinical assessments and treatment for some students
Providing consultation and support to the education staff team
Facilitating a reflective practice group for education staff
Supervision of the Assistant Psychologist
The role will also give you the opportunity to provide training and guidance to teams on such issues as behaviour support, mental health and communication, especially for young people with Autism.
You will also take a lead role in providing summaries of progress/intervention/risk assessments where appropriate for MDT’s in advance of meetings and provide training and support to families where required
Experience: Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:
Post graduate qualification in Psychology.
Registered and accredited with Health & Care Profession Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist.
Working with young people with special education needs and high levels of support.
Working with young people with Autism and associated difficulties.
Working in a school, college or care setting is desirable.
Working within a multi-disciplinary team.
Current evidence-based practice.
