Position: Part Time School Cleaner

Location: Lancashire, Leyland

Salary:  £12.04 per hour 

Hours: The school are looking for either one person to work 30 hours per week covering mornings and evenings on a split shift (Monday to Friday) OR for 2 people - one covering mornings and one covering evenings. Please state in your application what hours you are specifically.

This is a Term Time Only contract plus 3 extra weeks so 42 weeks per year worked.


This school is part of a Group of over 26 SEN schools across the UK - the 5th largest provider of SEN education in the UK.


Qualifications:

  • Some knowledge of Health and Safety Regulation in regards to cleaning equipment and cleaning materials.

  • Ability to work effectively and supportively as a member of the school team.

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.

  • Ability to prioritise work and be flexible.

  • Experience of undertaking a range of cleaning duties.

Key Duties:

To provide a cleaning service for the school across all types of rooms, including offices, classrooms, laboratories, halls, corridors, and toilets.

  • Vacuum cleaning floors.

  • Spot cleaning of spillages.

  • Wiping furniture, ledges, pipes, paintwork, doors and polishing door glass.

  • Emptying and cleaning bins (daily).

  • Cleaning toilets including sanitary fittings and surrounds.

  • Mopping and spray cleaning hard floor surfaces.

  • Wiping, dusting, cobweb removal, polishing.

  • Replenishing janitorial supplies in toilets, etc (daily).

  • Undertake deep clean as and when required.

  • Checking and closing windows, switching off lights after work and ensure the building is secure on exit.

  • Such other duties as may be allocated from time to time.

Like many SEN environments; your duties are likely to vary and therefore candidates will need to be flexible and be able to lend a hand whenever required.


Successful applicants will be subject to pre-employment safeguarding checks including an enhanced disclosure and barring service (DBS) check.
